Why D3D?

We have transformed the fabrication of dental and orthodontic appliances through the utilization of 3D printing. In this time of change, our goal is to work together with other appliance labs to help them grow by lowering overhead, thus increasing profits. We can significantly reduce the turnaround time of many products. At D3D, we strive to provide the highest level of service in the industry.

Meet the creator Dr. Todd Sandwick - CEO & Founder

Dr. Todd Sandwick comes from what we lovingly refer to as a “Dental Dynasty”.  His father, Dr. David Sandwick led the way, then Dr. Todd Sandwick and shortly after, his sister Dr. Jill Nelson.  Each Doctor has dedicated their time to practicing dentistry in rural Northern Minnesota.

He graduated with his DDS from the University of Minnesota in 1993. During that period, he spent seven years doing lab work at the University and at Excel Dental Studio, making crowns, bridges, full and partial dentures, and so on.  This has allowed him the unique ability to not only understand the world of dentistry, but also the world of dental laboratories.

They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and that’s what lead to him developing the Dean retainer, for which he received a US patent in September 2014.  In addition to the Dean Retainer, Dr. Sandwick has multiple patents pending.
